Sometimes you stumble upon situations so terrible that you can't help but laugh. It's like your brain tries to make sense of the sheer magnitude of chaos and just resigns itself to fate, opting for a weak, desperate giggle as a coping defense.
But then, you remember that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain terrible. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a groan.
After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of bewilderment. You start ruminating about the purpose of it all. Was this intended to be funny?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with the case of terrible hair. I couldn't make it to look presentable. As I was scrambling out the door, I stumbled and dropped my lunch all over the floor. To make matters worse, I was totally late for a very important appointment.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
